Wheat Rava Idly

Wheat Rava is enriched with protein and fiber. It is a perfect ingredient that can be used by any age group for good health. This is a very diabetic friendly ingredient too. Also, wheat rava is very much preferred in weight loss programs, as consuming even little quantity of wheat rava makes us feel satisfied and curb our hunger/urge for more food consumption. Here is a simple way to include this wonder ingredient in your diet in a very familiar form & in a way that everyone can enjoy it. It is Wheat Rava idly. This is made very similar to normal idlies but very nutritive compared to the normal idlies. The advantage of this idly is, it doesn’t need any rice in its preparation, so those rice-watchers can fearlessly consume any number of idlies without being calorie conscious.
 
Use this wonderful healthy ingredient regularly in your diet and get all its health benefits.
 
Ingredients:
 
·  Wheat Rava – 4 Cup
·  Urud Dhal – 1 Cup
·  Salt – 2 to 3 tsp
 
Method:
 
1. Soak Wheat Rava and Urud Dhal in water for min 3-4 hours, max 5-6 hours.



2. Strain the water completely and first grind urud dhal as you grind for idly batter (either in grinder or mixie)



3. Once urud dhal is grounded well, add the wheat rava to it and grind for max 5 mins, enough for wheat rava to mix well with urud dhal and it becomes small granules. The batter shouldn’t be too watery.


4. Remove and mix both into a broad container and add salt and beat with hands very well for a min and ferment for 8 hours.


5. Next day, pour the batter into idli plates and steam like normal idlies for about 7-10 mins and remove.
