Banana Stem Salad

Banana Stem is one of the healthiest foods you can think for maintaining a good health.

Already the benefits of this wonder stem are mentioned in my other banana stem recipe. Here is a look at how to get the complete nutritive benefit of banana stem by consuming it raw in form of a salad. If any has a doubt how a raw banana stem would taste, the answer is simply tasteful. The crunchiness & juiciness in the raw banana stem is certain to make you mouth-watery.

Eat this healthy salad and enjoy good health. This salad makes up for an ideal mid-morning brunch (or) mid-afternoon snack in your lunch box.

Ingredients:

Banana Stem (Chopped to fine pieces and raw) – 1 Cup
Lemon Juice – 1 tsp (Squeezed from ½ a lemon)
Salt – ¾ tsp
For Seasoning: Oil – 1 tsp, mustard – 1 tsp, ginger (cut to fine pieces) – ½ tsp, g.chillies (cut to fine pieces) – 2, curry leaves – 6, coriander leaves (chopped) – 1 tsp

Method:

1.       In a bowl, add the lemon juice & salt.
2.       Add the chopped raw banana stem to the above and mix well.
3.       Season as given and pour the seasoning on to the banana stem and mix well.
4.       Serve chilled. While serving add a teaspoon of (olive) oil if you want.

Note:

Since this salad is healthy, make this healthier by using olive oil for seasoning and for topping while serving.
